How do you go about finding out if you have different types of errors in your tree. I.E. family members not linked. Individuals in your tree that do not link up to other family members.

In "edit" mode and under "dashboard > maintenance", there is provision to check for certain errors. Other than that, probably check yourself is all I can suggest.

Good question, I was also looking for a way of checking for "floating" people, ie. not attached to anyone on the tree. The present error checks are only for people who are either 'probably alive 'or 'probably dead'.
