I have a test site and live site set up in Tribal Pages. Finalising some detail in the test site this morning and got interrupted by a Black Friday advert appearing on the website. Went to my live site to transfer the corrected information from the test site to find my live site replicated my test site and all the remaining information on the live site has disappeared. I'm not sure if this arose due to the advert appearing but in anycase I want to know if there is a way to recover the original information on the live site.

You could certainly email support and ask how often they make backups and if there would be a charge to recover your site. There may be a FAQ somewhere talking aboujt this, I am not sure.

This kind of thing is one very good reason to obtain backup gedcoms occasionally for folks who do their tree buildng online. Then you can download them to your computer as protection.

I doubt that the problem was the Black Friday ad - I think it may have been an issue with you possibly being logged in to two different tree sites here at the same time. I do not think TP's cookies keep track of that, I have seen it do things to one tree that I thought were getting done to another - like change the background.

So, just for safety's sake in the future, if you need to be logged in to two trees at once, log in to them from two different browsers that keep their own cookies. Like Safari and Firefox, or Chrome and Edge, or whatever two browsers you can use on your computer.

Thanks Blumstein. The problem was with the Homepage which I have reconstructed and copied the HTML to a Word document as backup in case the issue arises again. No issue with People as I use Legacy as my source and have a Gedcom from that.
